Joshua Kyan Aalampour

Classical composer, researcher, student.

Most people know me as a classical composer. But outside of music, I spend a lot of my time studying. I think there's so much beauty in the world, and I want to understand as much of it as I can while I'm here.

I was a physics student before I was a composer. I studied at UC Berkeley, finished in two years, and briefly attended the Eastman School of Music for graduate school before dropping out. Most of what I know is self-taught. This site is a passion project where I collect my original research and notes. I'm passionately curious about the world, and still have a lot to learn.
